· Are you looking for a creative and diverse role within a dynamic team?

Then The Kenwood Centre may be exactly what you are looking for…
The Kenwood Centre is part of Becton School and Nexus Multi-Academy Trust, based in the Nether Edge area of Sheffield. We are currently expanding our provision, so we need more great teachers to join our growing team. Every day we make a huge difference to the lives of the children and young people in our community, all of whom have EHCPs, with a diagnosis or traits of Autism and other related Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Becton School is a unique, complex, caring and wonderful place. We are proud of our great reputation with children and families, other professionals, other agencies and Sheffield Local Authority. Our shared vision for Nexus Multi-Academy Trust is that we are constantly "Learning together, to be the best we can be". This vision is what we aspire for and is as relatable to every employee and partner of our Trust as it is to our children, young adults and their families. We are fully committed to partnerships and all the educational benefits of collaborative working. You can find out more at: www.nexusmat.org
The students at The Kenwood Centre have often missed a large part of their education for a variety of reasons. Although we know we cannot change their past experiences, we can work together to transform their futures. The children are at the heart of everything we do, and we strongly believe that it is our responsibility to provide a place where everyone feels welcome, safe, secure and highly valued. We are also proud to work in close partnership with parents and carers to ensure our children and young people develop skills for life. We are here to ensure that every single student has the best opportunities to flourish through personalised learning.
In mathematics students are empowered to marvel at the world around them through the exploration of the structure of everything, and application of knowledge and skills to explain and understand what they see. Students develop their reasoning skills as they apply mathematical knowledge and approaches to unfamiliar contexts. They become confident to communicate and describe solutions, ideas and methods efficiently in written, symbolic and word form, and they acquire fluency in subject specific language.
At The Kenwood Centre, we deliver a spiral curriculum (aligned with the national curriculum) that allows for multiple outcomes, including access to functional skills qualifications and/or GCSE qualifications and/or Level 3 qualifications, as appropriate. All schemes of learning and sequences of lessons are constructed in order to identify and address gaps in prior learning and to build towards mastering the recall and application of knowledge and skills in a variety of different contexts.
We are seeking an individual with strong child-centred values, resilience and a proven ability to deliver exceptional learning experiences for all our students.
Applications are welcome from candidates in all educational settings (including in mainstream settings) who can teach mathematics at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, and who can demonstrate knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities.
Candidates are strongly encouraged to visit The Centre Kenwood to find out more information. For an informal conversation about the vacancy or to arrange a visit please contact Ross Graham, Curriculum Leader for Mathematics, on 0114 255 7679 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Application forms can be downloaded from the vacancies section of our website: www.becton.sheffield.sch.uk
