Becton is an exceptional school split across 2 divisions with each division hosting a different cohort of pupils. Our Becton site is part of the Becton Young Peoples Centre and is a regional service for children and young people with serious or complex mental health problems. The Kenwood Centre and Moncrieffe Centre provide full time education for KS3/4 pupils with autism and a degree of emotional and mental health difficulties. If a child or young person is unable to attend school for a while because of a medical or mental health problem, we will, in consultation with parents and other professionals, seek an alternative way of maintaining their education via our team at Chapel House. Our final site is situated at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital where we teach the children in small groups or 1:1 depending on the need of the pupil.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding Key Stage 2 teacher for our Becton Centre site. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge in Upper KS2 and will also be able to motivate students through inspirational teaching. Experience of teaching Humanities is desirable. Flexibility is essential, our cohort is transient and students are grouped due to their stage rather than their age, every week is different! This is an excellent opportunity for a talented teacher to join a thriving school and work with students who have a variety of complex needs. Applications are welcomed from NQTs and experienced practitioners.
