Enrichment at Kenwood
‘Enrichment allows students to enhance their social skills through an activity they enjoy’
The principles behind an enrichment activity are:
- To create learning, social and communication opportunities within a contextual setting.
- To build resilience and perseverance in a chosen activity.
To provide a breath of opportunities across the curriculum to include:
- Outdoor Education
- Enterprise
- Vocational skills and Careers
- Further study and education games,
- Social situations in our community
- Culture and the Arts.
Activities can be proposed by any member of staff or students. These ideas will then be planned and lead by a designated Activity Lead. The activities will last for up to a half term.
On the last Friday of each half term there will be the opportunity to do a whole school activity eg PSHE, Internet safety, Walk, Kenwood’s got talent etc.
These activities can also provide the opportunity to cover the Careers Gatsby benchmarks, including meeting and interviewing people at work.
